Audio or text, from any club or amateur. Here's how to get it on NewsWest.
Getting in touch with the News Team is simple: email newswest@vk6.net. The team will receive it and one of us will reply, often within the hour. Please remember we’re all volunteers.
What to send
Send your story as audio if you can: it brings your voice and your club to air. You can also send text, and a member of the News Team will read it on your behalf. If you have a late-breaking story that urgently needs to go to air, email us and we’ll try to fit it in.
Recording tips
- Write it down first and read it through aloud once before recording.
- Record somewhere quiet, with soft furnishings, close to the microphone.
- Say your name and callsign at the start or end.
- Audacity is free and runs on Windows, macOS and Linux; it’s what we use.
